What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician position at PEI-Genesis?
The Calibration Technician will have the primary responsibility of assuring all calibration activities are performed in prescribed manners and measurement equipment is current for the calibration. The Calibration Technician will also be responsible for providing measurement equipment support for ongoing production needs as well as new product launches.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Minimum of three years in a gage calibration related field.
- Strong, analytical, team player with the ability to motivate employees by way of example.
- Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as requested.
- Strong root cause analysis and investigative skills.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 system requirements, as well as ISO17025 requirements for calibration and testing.
- Understanding of how to read and interpret component and assembly drawings.
- Understanding of how to utilize and interpret various measurement tools.
- Ability to work closely with employees and vendors with a wide spectrum of backgrounds and abilities.
- Basic ability to operate machines in tool room in a safe and efficient manner
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES – (Proficiencies for application job-related knowledge, experience and skills.)
- Strong computer skills
- A comprehensive knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100
- Familiarity with Government and Industry laboratory and testing procedures.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Support and maintain the gage calibration system.
- Document and retain appropriate records related to gage calibration activities.
- Support the quality assurance staff using a “Hands-On” approach.
- Utilize investigative and problem solving methods.
- Lead and organize outside gage calibration activities.
- Effectively communicate to suppliers and team members requirements of the gage calibration system and quality management system processes.
- Continuously review and provide to the organization data as to the state of the gage calibration system and associated processes.
- Identify and drive cost saving measures related to the gage calibration activities.
- Correction of internal process issues.
- Actively participate in all audits (internal, customer, and third party)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8 hours of the day.
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
- Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
- Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
