The Floral Merchandiser will work closely with the Produce/Floral Procurement Manager, Produce/Floral Sales Managers, Produce/Floral Operations managers, and other Buyers to achieve the goals of the company. We are looking for a friendly, self-motivated, independent worker to merchandise floral and produce- related products at local Member stores. Because the employee will be required to service an assigned territory, access to an automobile is required.
Main Responsibilities
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization
- Personal initiative and follow through to completion
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services related to sale of merchandise
- Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment
- Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions
- Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders
- Assist in decorating and merchandising the department
What we are Searching For
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Travel Requirements: Less than 50%.
- Creativity, and a knowledge of how to best present products
- Experience in grocery retail and customer service
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to use/willing to learn to use a pallet jack and flat cart
- Must have the ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, and reach to complete assigned tasks
