At PEJU, we strive to be the highlight of every guest’s visit to the Napa Valley and our Maintenance Mechanic, works diligently behind the scenes, to ensure all our visitors have amazing and memorable experiences. This position is responsible for repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance as needed to maintain both our wineries, PEJU and Calmere. The Maintenance Mechanic is proactively assessing and repairing, constantly striving to improve efficiency and perform maintenance to the highest quality standards. The perfect candidate possesses not only a sense of urgency, an eye for quality /cost control but also has developed and mastered proactive approaches to problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of components.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Responsible for ensuring repairs, new modifications and production upgrades are performed to include; managing and contacting outside vendors, selection, evaluation and following three bid process. Ensure work is performed correctly to company standard.
• Responsible for general mechanical work connected with various projects such as electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, and other general production equipment as needed.
• Assemble and install mechanical and electrical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools, conveyor systems, storage racks and tanks, facility equipment and the like.
• Perform skilled level repairs and modifications on winery buildings performing tasks such as light plumbing and electrical, painting and minor carpentry type tasks and maintenance.
Requirements
• Five (5) years journeyman level maintenance or general construction experience with knowledge of various trades including welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and installation.
• Ability to perform welding, forklift repair and bottling line experience is strongly preferred.
• Requires skilled knowledge of how to operate trade tools and perform jobs at a high-quality while being safe.
• Certification to operate specific machinery or plant vehicles (forklift) is required. Man and scissor lift certificate preferred.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
• Skilled to work from blueprints and all phases of mechanical work
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude/dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to be organized and efficient.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Valid and clean CA Driver’s License required.
Salary : $40 - $43
