Position Overview
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information to management, auditors, and regulatory authorities while being responsive to the needs of internal and external customers. These duties consistently require the exercise of discretion and independent judgment and require knowledge necessary to analyze, interpret, and assist in decision making. This position may be focused on Property & Casualty (P&C) companies and /or the Life Companies.

Position Overview
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information to management, auditors, and regulatory authorities while being responsive to the needs of internal and external customers. These duties consistently require the exercise of discretion and independent judgment and require knowledge necessary to analyze, interpret, and assist in decision making. This position may be focused on Property & Casualty (P&C) companies and /or the Life Companies.
Essential Functions
- Prepares the monthly internal financial statements for assigned companies
- Prepares the filing of annual and quarterly statements and various supplemental filings to authorized states, multiple bureaus, and other agencies
- Prepares documentation for and works with outside auditors and state examiners as needed
- Prepares various statistical reports required by management throughout the year
- Responsible for analyzing variances and providing explanations to senior leadership
- Communicates effectively with internal and external customers
- Promotes continuous process improvement within the Financial Reporting areas
- Works closely with the Accounting Operations team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
- Develops new reports in Workday to accommodate business needs
- Inputs and balances various schedules in the quarterly and annual statements prepared in accordance with NAIC’s Statements of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP’s)
- Inputs and maintains reinsurance recoverable losses, expenses, and reserves
- Assists with external audit requests
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Typically requires 3 years accounting experience
- Professional accounting or insurance designations preferred
Basic ability to:
- communicate effectively in both oral and written form

- analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data
- read, analyze, and interpret accounting and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents

$60,000 to $79,000 per year
- This range is based on the expected level of experience and skills for this position. Final compensation will depend on individual qualifications.
