Summary/Objectives: The Cad Drafter I will utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD design software to: Develop and revise cad drawings of new and existing products for various product lines; Create 3D models and evaluate and ensure the fitment of the product through the modeling process; Draft 2D dimensional fabrication and assembly drawings from 3D models based on Engineering design and criteria. Create rendered product images for technical publications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Use computer-aided drafting and design software for accomplishing the design, modeling and drafting, tasks, including creation of orthographic mechanical drawings of cast and machined parts and isometric mechanical assemblies with parts lists.
- Create and modify graphic images required for catalogs, brochures, instructions, etc.
- Confer with engineering, technical, and manufacturing personnel and provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written form by e-mail.
- Use ERP system to acquire accurate data for models, drawings, and bill of materials, and to process an engineering change request.
- Must be detail oriented and able to switch between multiple job assignments with ease, including working as a team member with all departments

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, or similar software
- Knowledge of, and proficiency in, personal computer applications, i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of 3D models and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry and their applications
- Basic knowledge of, and familiarity with, the methods, and the tools involved in forming, machining, and assembling ferrous and non-ferrous materials, castings and structures
- Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Associates or a Certificate in Drafting & Design
- 0-4 year of hands-on 3D modeling and drafting experience
Preferred:
- 0-4 years of hands-on Autodesk Inventor modeling and drafting experience

Work Environment:
Primary duties will be performed in an office setting, with frequent visits to production area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, in office setting, to loud in production area. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-Time. 9/80 Work Schedule, 7:00AM – 5:00PM
