What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at Pelham Berkeley Search?
We are hiring immediately for a Network Administrator role working hybrid onsite in NYC 2 days per week. This is a long term temporary contract with the possibility of converting to full-time (temp to perm).
In summary you will:
- Assists in all network security solutions in accordance with industry best practices.
- Administers with installing, configuring, patching and maintaining network-related infrastructure
- Administers in troubleshooting and resolving for all faults in the network.
- Racks, stacks, powers, and provides management connections for network-attached devices.
- Monitors and optimizes network performance and respond to operation issues and incidents in a timely manner.
- Creates and manages support tickets in response to any type of network degradation or system issues.
- Arranges scheduled network-related upgrades.
- Updates network and security equipment to the latest firmware releases.
- Utilizes network management best practices and tools to investigate and resolve network related performance issues.
- Utilizes network monitoring tools to ensure all systems run optimally.
- Assists with integrating technologies from outside vendors in various networking environments and optimize security.
- Leads vendor's network engineers on designing and maintaining network architecture, helping to manage vendors and hold them responsible to meet SLAs.
- Assists in network-related disaster recovery efforts, testing, and documentation.
- Administers VLAN, IP, DNS and Domains.
- Develops documentation and user guides for network enhancements.
- Collaborates with other technical teams to optimize network-related infrastructure.
Requirements include:
- 3 years of network administration experience in a business environment incorporating switch, router and firewall configuration, network monitoring, and experience utilizing network management tools.
- Knowledge of network topology, understanding of LANS, VPN, Wi-Fi.
- Strong knowledge in network administration, cyber security, IT operation, inventory and patch management, incident response.
- Require participation in periodic network devices updates outside of normal business hours and respond to network-related operation issues and incidents in a timely manner.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills in English and oral communication in Chinese (Mandarin).
- Completed college degree with Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related course of study.
- Professional certifications of CCNA, CCNP or CISSP preferred
