What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Aided Design Drafter position at Pelican Products, Inc.?
The CAD Designer is responsible for designing and detailing plastic injection molded, machined, and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies. Works on Industry and Pelican Products standards to create accurate, manufacturable designs and supporting documentation.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates SolidWorks assemblies, parts and drawings from 2D prints and sketches provided by engineering.
- Be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECO documentation.
- Perform first article inspection of new components and test products to verify design under supervision of engineers.
- Checks all drawings and documentation for accuracy against engineering requirements.
- Actively supports Pelican’s commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and / or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
- Ability to perform computations or analyses using basic statistical, financial, or logical concepts, or complex mathematical concepts
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
