SUMMARY
Performs various material movement duties including : basic operation of computer systems, categorizing freight and other similar duties to ship company's products and materials.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works from computer systems procedures, purchase orders, written and / or verbal instructions, established shipping procedures, methods, and practices.
- Counts, weighs, and checks outgoing shipments; reports shortages, damage or obvious defects to supervisor.
- Packages, straps, weighs, and labels shipments.
- Load trucks or containers (floor load or forklift) based on preferred method to be determined by management.
- Operates internal computer system to determine status of products and track products. Maintains records as instructed.
- Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
- Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Maintains daily production and other records as required.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and / or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
