What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contact Center Lending Representative (Baton Rouge, LA) position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the Contact Center Lending Representative is responsible for servicing the lending needs of the members for all products and services through inbound and outbound calls as well as external referral sources. The rep will look for sales opportunities when reviewing credit applications. A complete understanding of all accounts and services, as well as strong member service skills, is essential. Acting as a one-stop information source, the rep's primary focus is to take loan applications, process loan applications, interview members for all consumer and loan requests, assist the member in resolving loan-related problems and coordinate loan closings. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, is a must! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. A Day in the Life of a Contact Center Lending Representative INCLUDES:
Taking applications and processing loans from a variety of sources, such as member calls, non-member calls, leads from contact center, branch referrals, and online sources.
Interviewing loan applicants and providing information on loan products and alternative products that best meet the member’s needs.
Requesting and reviewing all required information and documentation to secure a loan.
Selling and cross selling products and services by identifying member needs and matching services and products to increase loan volume.
Preparing and submitting loan papers for closing preparation of consumer loans.
Actively working individual loan queue to ensure follow-up with members is completed in a timely manner.
Contact Center Lending Representative Skills and qualifications includes:
A high school education or GED.
2 years of experience including lending, teller, or call center experience with a financial institution.
Must have a strong background in sales.
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

All work will be performed at our beautiful Corporate Campus located at 2675 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge, LA.

Requirements include:
A dedicated workspace.
Secure and strong internet connection.
Not being a caretaker for any dependents (adult or child) for the entirety of the scheduled shift.
An environment free from loud noises or outside distractions.
The first 90 days will be on-site for training at our Corporate Campus located at 2675 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge.
