Data Analyst (Baton Rouge, LA)

The role of the Data Analyst is to interpret technical data, assist with developing reports and solutions, maintain required databases, and manage support requests within area of responsibility. Our Data Analyst works closely with third-party vendors to ensure problem resolution or successful software or hardware implementation and ensures all critical products are kept at a current stable release level. The ability to maintain business applications and perform development tasks as required. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Proficiency in reporting tools such as PowerBI and SQL Server, is a must! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. Our Data Analyst must embody Pelican’s Core Values and provide excellent service in all that they do.     A Day in the Life of a Data Analyst INCLUDES: Analyzing existing core programs and reports and writing new solutions in conjunction with Programmers and Software Development Manager Providing support in developing better workflows as it relates to business applications Acting as a contact for any system problems that occur during processing or that are reported by users; analyzing and documenting problems and recommending solutions and initiating corrective action Acting as a project coordinator for any in-house development or enhancements of the core systems or ancillary systems as assigned Analyzing software to determine the Credit Union needs and integrating with exiting software and hardware   Data Analyst Skills and qualifications include: BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements. 3 years of experience in computer programming and/or IT data analytics Knowledge of web development using jQuery, JavaScript and other tools Knowledge of C# or other high-level programming language Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to generate custom reporting Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or similar application is required   Other things you may want to know about this position: Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Travel Travel is rarely necessary for this position.
