What are the responsibilities and job description for the DMV/Title Specialist position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the DMV/Title Specialist is to provide a variety of clerical functions involving collateral documentation, retention, and other lending activities to support the lending team. They will be responsible for the filing of lien instruments on motor vehicles, pledged as collateral security. Duties will also include but are not limited to the initiation of the filing process, maintaining records of filings, disbursing funds to the Department of Motor Vehicles or other agencies in appropriate jurisdictions, as well as maintaining current registration information for all states.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DMV/TITLE SPECIALIST INCLUDE:
- Maintaining current registration information for all states.
- Filing of lien instruments on motor vehicles, etc. pledged as collateral security.
- Preparation of titles and paid collateral letters for signature, forwarding released collateral documents to members.
- Upon receipt of title from DMV, maintain accounts accordingly and prepare loan packet for scanning.
- Responsible for training DMV/Title Specialists.
- A high school education or GED.
- 2 years of experience in lending processing with a financial institution or DMV/title processing.
- Personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
- Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and word-processing software.
- Knowledge of loan policies and procedures.

- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Travel
- Travel is rarely necessary for this position.

- All work will be performed at our beautiful Corporate Campus located at 2675 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge, LA.
