What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Support Specialist - Loan Support position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the Loan Support Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of quality documentation as well as the centralized funding and quality control/audit functions for consumer loans. The Loan Support Specialist must ensure that the credit union consistently adheres to loan policies and guidelines and meets all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements. This role will cross-train, assist and support other job functions as needed in order to foster and sustain a strong team environment. They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. A Day in the Life of a Loan Support Specialist INCLUDES:
Preparing titles and paid collateral letters, processing letters of guarantee, and releasing and accepting titles.
Eliminating dealer/member fraud by ensuring proper and thorough verification is completed on all loan packages.
Verifying, filing, and maintaining lien instruments on secured loans.
Monitoring the funding queue at all times to ensure quality and that document preparation is completed in a timely manner.
Working with phone, online, and branch lenders to resolve any discrepancies, issues on incorrect documents, or delays in closings.
Loan Support Specialist Skills and qualifications include:
A high school education or GED.
3 years of experience in consumer lending.
Prior loan processing and loan documentation experience is preferred.
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Must be available to work a rotational shift of 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Travel
Travel is rarely necessary for this position.
Work Site Location
All work will be performed at our beautiful Corporate Campus located at 2675 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge, LA.
