What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller Floater (Jackson, LA) position at Pelican State Credit Union?
The role of the Teller Floater is to greet all members when they enter the branch and assist them with their financial needs including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, payments, and promoting and cross-selling Pelican’s products. Our ideal candidate has a positive, can-do attitude, is a self-starter and problem-solver with strong cash-handling and member service skills. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable in a sales environment and be able to meet monthly sales goals.
A Day in the Life of a Teller Floater INCLUDES:
Perform routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
Assist members in the opening and closing of accounts.
Promote and cross-sell Pelican products and services to members to fit their financial needs.
Balance the teller drawer at the end of the day.
Balance transactions and verify cash totals. Investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions.
Teller floater Skills and qualifications include:
A High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of customer service to include cash handling.
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and member service skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and PPT.
Reliable transportation is required due to the travel requirement.

Monday – Friday
8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Travel time may extend beyond normal business hours.

Travel is necessary for this position and mileage reimbursement is available for those who qualify.
Work Site Location
This position will be based at our Jackson branch at 2637 Highway 10, Suite A, Jackson, LA 70748, and may be scheduled in advance to work at the following locations:
Zachary
In special situations, our floaters may be asked in advance to travel outside of the Greater Baton Rouge region to another one of our statewide Pelican branch locations.
