What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foam Fabricator B - 2nd shift position at Pelican?
This is a 2nd Shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm Eastern Time
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of set up and operation duties to ensure cushions fit container configurations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works from part drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Maximizes stock usage. Performs activities necessary for layout of sub-component construction and assembly for a variety of first-time and repeat insert requirements.
Sets up and performs basic operations utilizing pressing equipment, bandsaw, and glue applicators. Selects stock and cuts sheet stock to proper dimensions and tolerances.
Performs self-inspections on completed assemblies.
Maintains established quality and quantity standards. Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Maintains daily production Transactions in our ERP system and other records as required.
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include:
Minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing experience.
Ability to use a tape measure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with hot melt gluing applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
Salary : $22 - $25
