As a Medical Billing Assistant, you will be responsible for processing and managing patient billing, insurance claims, and payment collections while ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday: 7:30AM - 4:30PM
- Friday: 7:30AM - 3:30PM
Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve claim denials, reworks, and discrepancies by communicating with insurance providers.
- Review and analyze aging reports for outstanding insurance claims.
- Oversee payment posting and ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts.
- Submit and process claims efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Post RPM/CCM charges for all healthcare providers monthly.
- Prepare and send paper claims via mail as necessary.
- Handle inquiries related to accounts and payments through phone communication.
- Assist front office staff with insurance-related questions and account management.
Education, Licenses, And Experiences for This Role:
- Experience in medical billing
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHRs) a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use
