Pella Christian is rooted in the Reformed faith and firmly believe that God is sovereign over all areas of life and learning, including our curricular and co-curricular activities. To fulfill the PC mission, our teachers and staff are supported by the Teaching for Transformation framework and our coaches are guided by the Coaching for Transformation framework. Recent Professional Development for teachers has focused on Teaching for Transformation, Deeper Learning, Student Support Services, and peer collaboration.
We are seeking highly qualified individuals who are in full agreement with Pella Christian’s Statement of Faith. Pella Christian Grade School and Pella Christian High School are accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI). Applicants must possess or be able to obtain proper licensure/endorsements as described in the job description.

High School Theatre Director
Pella Christian Schools is prayerfully seeking applicants for a High School Theatre Director for the 2025-2026 school year. The person in this position would be responsible for leading the Fall Musical and Spring Play productions, with a possibility of some involvement in Large Group Speech. This position could be paired with a current teaching opening at Pella Christian Schools.
Individual Requirements:
- Membership and regular participation in a Christian church.
- Agreement with the Pella Christian Schools Mission and Statement of Faith.
- Prior high school directing experience or involvement is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of a theatrical program.
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills with students, colleagues, and administration.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with high school students and mentoring students through theatrical opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, and the greater community.
Job Requirements:
- Choose theatrical performances that align with the mission of Pella Christian Schools.
- Oversee auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances of the Fall Musical and Spring Play.
- Build a cast culture guided by Christian values that seeks to develop each student’s unique gifts.
- Oversee adult leaders that lead and guide set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup, sound, and lighting.
- Communicate rehearsal and performance schedules effectively with parents, students, and administration, and the use of facilities with administration.
- Ensure compliance with school and IHSMA guidelines.
- Oversee the marketing of performances and the Pella Christian Theatre website.
- Represent the Pella Christian Fine Arts Department positively in the community.
