What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Purchaser position at Pella Products of Kansas City?
I. JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is primarily responsible for all the purchasing process for all our Pella Products, our associated trim and other building materials and any other customer delivered product. This position confirms an order is current on payment and then executes the order with Pella Corp or our approved Vendors for the required material. This position also controls the shipping/routing planning for each day’s shipments and coordinates these activities closely with the Operations team. This position will also assume control of Fleet Management for our Pella KC owned vehicles. This position will also be trained in performing service events for customers as needed. This position will resolve customer issues as they arise and source out the root cause of the issue and take steps to eliminate the issue from occurring in the future. Be the champion for the purchasing process, shipping/routing process and Fleet Management process within Pella KC.

- Provide accurate and correct information from Pella KC to consumers regarding pricing, product instructions, contracts, quotations, and reports.
- Communicate with PPKC Salespersons and Trade & Retail Project Coordinators on purchasing requirements and questions.
- Communicate with PPKC Warehouse Team as well as Service, Trade & Retail Project Coordinators on all shipping/routing requirements as per our shipping schedule and any associated questions.
- Communicate with PPKC Executive Leadership and Pella KC employees regarding vehicle assignments, care and maintenance of vehicles and overall organization and upkeep of our PPKC Fleet.
- Communicate with PPKC Service Team to coordinate service events as needed and per our service processes.
- Able to effectively utilize various Pella Corp software programs.
- Communicate with customers in a positive and effective manner, face-to-face, telephone, email, or written correspondence.
- Meet key performance metrics for department and follow proper processes to reach objectives.
- Be responsive, proactive, take ownership in areas of responsibility and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Show responsibility for performance; demonstrate ownership for adherence to company policies and processes.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
