Job Summary:
Sales consultants are responsible for prospecting new customers and maintaining a customer base by selling window and door product lines. This position is responsible for maintaining a high-level of integrity and professionalism when representing the Pella brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales goals by providing well-rounded solutions and market expertise
- Devote over 50% of time to customer sites to generate account growth with planned quality meetings, as well as prospecting to develop new business
- Build long lasting relationships with builders, contractors, architects, and trade organizations using a consultative sales approach
- Partner with customers to recommend and provide proposals on the appropriate products and solutions that help grow their business
- Utilize Pella’s quoting and Salesforce software to prepare proposals and manage customer relationships
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license to operate a fleet vehicle
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of construction industry
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects and customer accounts at once
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles from initial meeting to completed project
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two to four years of sales experience strongly preferred
Mathematical and Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to put together accurate quotes and orders
- Ability to understand customer needs and offer appropriate solutions
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and understand fractions
Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft suite
- Must be familiar with smart devices
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and applications and other business critical applications
Communication Skills:
- Ability to provide clear communication with customers via emails, telephone calls, and/or text messages in a timely manner
- Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers and managers, and the public
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily conducted at customer jobsites
- The noise level for this position is usually moderate
