Position Overview

The Order Verification & Service Technician position incorporates responsibilities in each of these areas: pre-order measurement verification (field), special events labor, product repairs, field inspections, and diagnosis of Pella products for the purpose of customer satisfaction, and support of our business divisions as assigned. The primary job responsibilities of this position take place before and after sale as we move to re-measuring, ordering, delivery, installation, and service of the product.

Job Summary:

This role supports Pella’s customer-centered focus in areas related to sales, installation and customer service. The OV / Service Technician can expect to support our business in any capacity aimed at job and client support while preserving and enhancing the company’s short and long-term business interests.

  • Will become fully knowledgeable on all aspects of the Order Verification Process.
  • Responsible for the timely execution of the Order Verification process.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a professional Pella representative on all job-sites.
  • Responsible for setting realistic expectations of the Pella installation process with the homeowner.
  • Must have knowledge and experience to take and record accurate measurements.
  • Must develop proficient knowledge of OMS and PQM and will use this information to verify measurements and product information at the customer’s home.
  • Will perform job-site inspection to assess home for water intrusion, rot, mold and other issues.
  • Will confirm job-site suitability for the install process and work with homeowner to resolve any discovered issues.
  • Will work with the sales team, project coordinators and installers to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Deliver missing items needed for installations to job-sites to increase first time completion rate as needed.
  • Observe quality of installations; perform a job-site evaluation process to ensure that all requirements are being fulfilled at the job-site. Review discrepancies with installer immediately.
  • Provide training as needed on installation processes.
  • Perform recovery or installation tasks to improve customer satisfaction and complete a job in a timely manner as needed.
  • Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the manager.
  • Maintains assigned vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Building/construction experience necessary.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a trade-related job with an emphasis on framing and finish carpentry.
  • Must be able to measure and order product accurately to assure proper installation.
  • Good organizational, social, and customer focus skills are necessary.
  • Computer and modern technology skills required.
  • Outgoing and highly motivated personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work with little supervision.
  • Ability to lift product, climb ladders, assist with service, and make repairs to product.
  • A valid driver's license is required; along with an acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions and Environment

The OV / Service Technician will spend significant time in both office and field environments, and in residential and commercial dwellings. This individual will work and travel locally, but may be called upon for regional travel, as well, from time to time. This is a full-time position, and may require occasional overtime work.
