Job Title: Houseboat Maintenance Department: Houseboats Reports to: Houseboat Manager
Position Prerequisites:
1. High school education preferred.
2. Basic knowledge of electrical tools.
3. Ability to work with guest in all areas with a positive approach.
4. Ability to concentrate on detail and follow-up work while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction.
5. Ability to work as a team.
Purpose:
To complete tasks in maintenance and servicing of rental boats. Orients boat renters in the operation of boat & equipment. Launches and moors boats. Assist with basic marina operations.
Major Duties:
1. All necessary maintenance and sanitation tasks for the upkeep of the rental boats and marina to meet total guest satisfaction.
2. Knowledge of operating power tools.
3. Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
4. Install wood or metal parts. Install glass or removes broken glass. Repairs roofs and siding. Refurbish boats in winter (painting, sanding, etc.)
5. Be able to operate all types of resort boats.
6. Overall marina housekeeping.
7. Knowledge of water systems; sewer, fresh water.
8. Know where shut-off valves are for electrical, water, etc. And how to operate.
9. Basic water safety knowledge must be practiced.
10. Greet all customers as they enter your work area. Offer assistance immediately. Thank all customers as they leave work area.
11. Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality.
12. Use “clean as you go” method when performing your work duties.
13. Operate equipment with energy conservation in mind.
14. Adhere to safety policies.
15. Be present at all departmental and resort training meetings.
16. Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (both within the department and in other resort departments).
17. Maintain a positive attitude toward the resort and the job being performed.
General:
1. Be aware of daily activities and events at the resort.
2. Be knowledgeable of all resort operations.
3. Perform all reasonable job requests assigned by management.
Material handling: stooping, bending, lifting an average of 30 pounds will be part of some job requirements.
