Store Assistant Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Pek-Tah Fuel Mart Manager and or YEDC Area Manager. Works variable shifts as required. This position requires personnel to greet and welcome customers, assisting them in whatever way necessary to create goodwill and must have a friendly attitude. The Assistant Manager will be trained in all aspects of Pek-Tah Fuel Mart operations. The training period will last from 2 to 4 months depending upon how rapidly the Assistant Manager learns to operate the facility and manage operations in a satisfactory manner.

The Assistant Manager must be a team player, remaining flexible as to scheduling of hours and filling in for absent employees. The Pek-Tah Fuel Mart operates over 10 hours a day, seven days a week. Further the Assistant Manager must be available for telephone or messaging services should an emergency arise.

This position will require working on weekends, holidays and possibly graveyard shifts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Working in conjunction with the Pek-Tah Fuel Mart Manager and or YEDC Area Manager with the daily management of the Pek-Tah Fuel Mart and property.

2. An excellent appearance is dictated and demanded, must always be in proper uniform and always maintain, at all times, a courteous, tactful relationship with our customers.

3. Maintain, at all times, a clean, well-lighted environment for our customers including the pump islands, landscaping, driveways and parking lot, interior of building, floors, shelves, coolers, storage areas, eating areas and rest rooms.

4. Must be willing and able to work any shift including split shifts, evening, weekends, graveyard and holidays according to the established procedures or when needed to fill in for absent employees. Poor attendance will not be tolerated.

5. Must be able to perform normal maintenance of the Pek-Tah Fuel Mart Store such as sweeping, mopping, stocking shelves, stocking coolers, making coffee, and cleaning bathrooms as needed.

6. Must be able to be cross trained to operate cash registers, espresso machine and dispense propane in a manner consistent with all safety requirements set forth by the propane supplier or the Pek-Tah Fuel Mart.

7. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff.

8. Contact petroleum supplier for purchase and deliver of gasoline and diesel fuels to satisfy customer demand.

9. Monitor fuel and convenience store profit margins each day and adjust retail prices for best yield consistent with customer patronage.

10. Prepare daily and periodic report on fuel sales; convenience store sales; POS reconciliations to deposits and credit card activity; investigate fuel tank variances and any food/tobacco/beverage shrinkage.

11. Prepare, in conjunction with outside vendors, snack, beverage, tobacco and alcohol orders for replenishment of inventory. Ensure that items are placed in optimal visual location for fast turnover. Ensure that all delivery of food, tobacco and beverage items are properly received by Pek-Tah Fuel Mart personnel and correctly recorded to inventory.

9. All other Pek-Tah Fuel Mart and related duties as assigned by the Manager and or YEDC Area Manager.

Pay: $18.94 - $24.45 per hour
