Machinist Job Responsibilities

• Operate manual machines to cut, shape, and finish parts to specified dimensions.
• Monitor machine operations to detect any deviations from the set parameters.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain precision and quality.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, and other machining operations.
• Ability to read blueprints or engineering drawings and interpret to product products.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Plans a proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Select and install appropriate tooling and work holding devices for each job, ensuring they are securely and accurately positioned.
• Monitors production adjusts feed and other settings as necessary.
• Checks output for quality assurance
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
