We are seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to join the team at a food manufacturing facility. This person will play a key role in supporting all day-to-day operations of the plant, including production, maintenance, sanitation, and more.

Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operations of the plant, including Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, etc.
- Direct and delegate tasks to production supervisors and leadership, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage employees, addressing employee conflicts and concerns as needed.
- Participate in the recruiting, hiring, terminating, training, scheduling, and performance management of plant employees.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of product and process, answering questions and supporting training processes as needed.
- Ensure food safety regulations are followed and aid in the upkeep of all food safety documents.
- Monitor safety and sanitation through inspections and daily reporting, ensuring compliance with government and brand regulations. Address issues related to these, as needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot maintenance or repair issues as they occur, seeing to the completion of production regardless of equipment failures.
- Oversee production of all products, ensuring they meet brand specifications and product quality standards.
- Monitor product counts and verify completion of inventory duties, authenticating accuracy and follow through of SOPs.
- Place orders and ensure the plant has the required stock.
- Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
- Confirm weights, times, and temperatures are recorded by employees.
- Write daily summaries for the upper management team, understanding and applying any guidance or feedback that follows.
- Complete various administrative duties such as submitting maintenance orders, running reports, completing accident documentation, reviewing punches for payroll, etc.
- Provides coverage for the Supervisory team, as needed.
- Additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in Ready to Eat (RTE) Food Manufacturing in a management capacity is required.
- Experience in a Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified facility is required.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing various departments within a production facility including Production, Maintenance, etc. is required.
- High-level organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and delegate to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills are required. Experience running payroll, invoicing, creating key scan tags, and changing passwords is a plus.
- ServSafe Certification is required.
- Experience in an FDA environment is preferred.
- OSHA certification is preferred.
- This is a hands-on position; candidates should be able to sit, stand, traverse, etc. for up to 12 hours and lift 50 lbs.
