What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations - Quick Service position at Pembroke & Company, Inc.?
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join one of the largest quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands. The Director will establish a standard of excellence across several locations and continuously drive each store's success. Prior experience in the QSR industry is required, along with the flexibility to travel around Chicago and the surrounding area as needed. A typical work schedule will be 50 hours per week, including the potential for holidays and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for stores and develop actionable strategies to address and resolve underperformance.
- Create and implement sales programs to leverage business opportunities.
- Establish labor budgets, food cost targets, guest surveys, and brand standards.
- Ensure Store Managers meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance goals.
- Oversee store performance, forecasting sales data and trends to support staffing and business needs.
- Collaborate with Store Managers to determine hiring needs and assist in the interviewing, disciplining, and training of crew members.
- Oversee ongoing store maintenance and escalate issues to external vendors.
- Serve as project manager for store remodels, coordinating with vendors to meet timelines and local communities for reopening events.
- Ensure stores meet and exceed brand standards, including health inspections and Ops Connect standards.
- Monitor and ensure speed of service goals are being met across all locations.
- Step in to cover for Store Managers during their time off or support store operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a director in quick-service restaurants is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office or Google Suite.
- Ability to interpret and present financial reports, with a strong understanding of Profit & Loss reports and how to implement changes to meet budget goals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and implement change.
- Strong leadership skills with an understanding of confidentiality.
