Job Summary :

Pembroke Hill School is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to fill the role of Middle and High School Librarian. We are a learning community committed to fostering a love of reading, research, and lifelong learning in our students. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and forward-thinking librarian who can create an engaging and inclusive library environment for students in grades 6-12.

Qualifications and Requirements :

Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent.
Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
Strong knowledge of library resources, technologies, and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Ability to create and deliver engaging instruction and programs.
Passion for promoting reading, literacy, and lifelong learning.
Experience using Follett Destiny for collection maintenance and management.
Experience managing and analyzing database collections.
Experience with digital resources and online databases.

Responsibilities :

Developing and maintaining a diverse and relevant collection of print and digital resources.

Providing instruction in information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship.

Collaborating with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum.

Creating and implementing engaging programs and activities to promote reading and literacy.

Managing the library budget and resources effectively.

Maintaining a welcoming and inclusive library environment for all students.

Supervising student library assistants (if applicable).

Staying current with trends in library science and technology.

Physical Demands for Faculty Positions :

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.

Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone.

Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.

Physical ability to lift, carry and / or hold up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.

Ability to occasionally balance, reach, bend, squat, stoop, or kneel.

Ability to climb stairs, walk, and occasionally run, if required.
