PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. As the Cost & Scheduling Supervisor, you will lead the cost and scheduling teams responsible for budgeting, tracking, controlling, and reporting costs and scheduling activities for Projects and TA-related events. You will also oversee the cost and schedule management process implementation, ensure compliance with Projects, Turnaround & Finance Standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
To thrive/succeed as the Cost & Scheduling Supervisor, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Proven experience in cost engineering, scheduling, and turnaround management, with a minimum of 7 years in a similar role, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency in cost management software and tools, including SAP, Track, and Primavera.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of Downstream Manufacturing Projects and TA standards, processes, and recommended practices is preferred.
Your responsibilities as the Cost & Scheduling Supervisor will include:
- Lead and mentor cost and scheduling teams, ensuring collaboration, professional growth, and adherence to cost management practices.
- Oversee cost tracking, reporting, and control processes, ensuring compliance with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and financial standards.
- Review and approve cost estimates, forecasts, and reports, providing transparency and addressing budget deviations.
- Partner with stakeholders to consolidate project budgets, turnaround events, and planned activities.
- Drive financial planning processes, including pre-spend, FID proposals, and SAP/GSAP compliance.
- Using Primavera and SAP, ensure detailed, resource-loaded schedules, integrating project and event activities while optimizing scheduling efforts.
- Provide daily cost and schedule updates during TA execution, flagging deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Consolidate contractor labor costs and identify opportunities to reduce turnaround scope and costs.
- Facilitate critiques and lessons learned sessions, driving process improvements and achieving top-quartile performance through streamlined practices and cost optimization.
