Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage the general ledger reconciliation process, utilize financial software effectively, and provide insightful financial reports to guide decision-making.
Duties
- Ultimate responsibility for monthly and year-end financial statements, annual budgets and cash flow.
- Assists CFO in preparing the annual budgets( Service Demand, Operating and Capital)..
- Assists CFO in the development of new systems and/or projects that enhance the hospitals financial environment.
- Maintain current and correct general ledger data on information and other related databases.
- Assists CFO in developing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures which safeguard hospitals financial assets.
- Maintains departmental reports, records and collect statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Preparation of and filing of federal, state hospital association, third party and other financial reports required.
- Verify daily postings and current cash balances.
- Complete monthly closing by preparing and reconciling accounts assigned to meet hospital deadlines each month.
- Performs duties related to A/P and Payroll and other related assigned duties.
- Prepare the monthly financial reports for Board meetings.
- Attend and participate in appropriate meetings.
Qualifications
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Five years of accounting experience, of which two must be in leadership role. Non-profit and/or hospital setting preferred.
- Work a 40 hour work week. May be required to stay after hour.
