Description
The truck driver is primarily responsible for accurate delivery and pick up of company owned tools and equipment to/from job sites. The job sites may be for LCG Pence, LLC; LCG Pence Residential, LLC; or Pence Kelly Concrete, LLC. The driver will also assist the shop in tool cleaning and repair when there are no deliveries scheduled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Responsible for accurately accounting for all tools and equipment delivered/picked up to/from job sites.
- Checking the load before leaving and matching the items on the truck with delivery tickets
- Ensuring that there are separate delivery tickets for each job site
- Ensuring that the load is properly secured to protect the company equipment and tools
- Obtaining the signature of the job superintendent upon delivery of the tools/equipment
- Receiving or generating a return ticket for tools/equipment picked up at job site
- Doing a preliminary inspection of tools picked up and noting any damage beyond normal wear and tear prior to leaving job site
- Obtaining signature of job superintendent on return ticket which must include the note of any damage to tool.
- Assist the shop with cleaning and repair of returned tools/equipment
Qualifications
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.
- At least 2 years of delivery experience, preferably in the construction industry
- No moving violations within the past two years
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
- Exercise good judgement within defined parameters
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Forklift certification desired
- Must be able to load and unload truck
- CDL desired or the ability to obtain CDL
Working Conditions
Works primarily as a truck driver but will also work in a warehouse/shop environment. May be exposed to traffic hazards, job site conditions and warehouse conditions which may include dirt/dust, loud noise, and may be required to wear personal protective equipment. Required to lift 25lbs. regularly and 100lbs occasionally. Regular attendance is required to perform the job satisfactorily
