Description : Summary :
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for providing coaching and technical leadership for 6-10 engineers across 2-3 software delivery teams. You will be responsible for staffing teams to meet delivery objectives, supporting the personal and professional growth of direct reports, and ensuring the teams under your management have the resources and capacity to deliver on commitments and meet stated business objectives.
Essential Duties :
- Conduct performance management of direct reports including hiring, firing, on-boarding, 1 : 1s, annual assessments, and recommend compensation changes for direct reports
- Regularly gather and report metrics which represent measures of success and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Help direct reports identify and progress professional and personal growth goals
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders and contractors
- Participate in day-to-day technical operations including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Identify process and tooling gaps and provide recommendations to senior engineering leadership
- Occasionally write and maintain code in a variety of programming languages
- Other duties as assigned
