Full Wage Range: $3,468.15 - $4.378.70 per month
Hiring Range: $3,468.15 - $3,677.27 per month DOE

Job Overview:
The Victim-Witness Program Coordinator provides support services to victims and witnesses of crimes through the Pend Oreille County Prosecutor’s Office. The Victim-Witness Coordinator provides witnesses and victims of crimes information about criminal justice proceedings, victim rights as prescribed by Washington State law, and offers guidance and/or referrals to community resources as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain ongoing contact with and provide support services to victims and witnesses as the case develops and moves through the criminal justice process.
- Coordinate court times for witnesses and/or victims during trials and other court hearings and keep witnesses and victims apprised of case proceedings including trials and hearing dates, continuances and cancellations, case settlements, dispositions/sentencings.
- Act as liaison with community-based advocates, including Family Crisis Network.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with community and social service agencies to which victims may be referred and with other agencies in the criminal justice system in order to provide victims with appropriate educational and preventative information and available resources.
- Perform regular and timely data entry into the Washington State InfoNet system and office case management system.
- Work independently and maintain all ethical and professional standards of the office.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the criminal justice systems.
- Knowledge of victim rights statutes as defined in Washington State law.
- Knowledge of local community and social service systems and resources.
- Knowledge and experience working with procedures of state courts.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Work experience in the legal or criminal justice field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and driving record check via fingerprinting.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
