Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in bridge construction to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing projects across various bridge types, as well as in-depth knowledge of proper job task coding for Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) compliance. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of bridge construction projects are executed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure proper job task coding is applied in accordance with FHWA regulations and reporting requirements.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation to support project audits and funding compliance.
- Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and solicit bids from qualified subcontractors for bridge-related tasks.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor bids for accuracy, scope alignment, and compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless execution of bridge construction projects.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project tasks, requirements, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Prepare and review construction drawings and specifications to develop quantality takeoffs / calculations.
- Develop SOW
- Ensure all construction activities adhere to FHWA, state, and local standards, as well as environmental and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee quality control measures for materials and construction processes to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or issues in the field proactively.
- Prepare and issue detailed Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to qualified subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of project scope, specifications, and requirements.
- Organize pre-bid meetings and facilitate site visits to ensure subcontractors fully understand project details.
- Analyze subcontractor proposals for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project goals, identifying gaps or inconsistencies.
- Compare pricing, assess value, and recommend subcontractors based on qualifications, pricing, and alignment with the project budget.
- Work with subcontractors to clarify proposals and negotiate terms, including pricing, schedules, and scope of work.
- Maintain organized records of bids, communications, and awarded contracts.
Qualifications :
Certifications : PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred. OSHA 30 Required.
