Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide assessment, evaluation, and therapy to patients/families with behavioral health issues in the outpatient hospital setting, under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Master’s Intern/Practicum student will coordinate care with on-site clinical supervisor and treatment team. Maintain a high level of moral and ethical conduct as well as excellent customer service.
Hours: Minimum 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under Direct Supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Therapist:
- Performs patient care within scope of practice with attention to detail, accuracy, patient safety, and patient comfort.
- Evaluates patients & assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs and develops and maintains customized treatment plan for each patient.
- Educates patients on stress and trauma coping mechanisms, provides individuals with the resources they need to reach personal goals and monitors client progress and modifies treatment plans as needed.
- Facilitates individual and/or group therapy in accordance with treatment plan goals and uses appropriate clinical interventions with attention to patient developmental stages.
- Manages time and other resources to the best advantage of the hospital.
- Understands and complies with all hospital and program specific policy and procedures and promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
- Demonstrates necessary knowledge of laws related to the reporting of abuse, neglect and exploitation of patients.
- Demonstrates necessary knowledge of cultural differences and effectively interacts with patients of all races and cultures; demonstrates the ability to establish a non-biased, non-prejudicial approach in working with other employees, patients, and their families.
- Coordinates care with the treatment team and assesses risk factors and implements appropriate safety measures (suicide risk, workplace violence).
- Assists with behavioral health related employee engagement activities.
- Maintains ethics as dictated by relevant profession(s) and maintains flexibility and openness to new information and willingness to be a team member with all staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience:
- Attending program for Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or human services related field.
- Bachelor's degree
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Liability insurance
