Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of pet handling. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our animals while providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. This position requires a hands-on approach to animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of the animals in our facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with dog training sessions and socialization activities as needed.
- Interact with potential adopters, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Help with administrative tasks
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of pet care practices, including basic grooming and feeding requirements.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is beneficial but not required.
- Must be physically capable of handling dogs of various sizes and breeds.
