Position: Security Administrator

Pendleton Solutions is seeking a Security Administrator to support our Department of Defense customer. This role ensures the proper handling, storage, distribution, and protection of classified documents in compliance with DoD and SAP security protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience managing classified materials, maintaining document control systems, and ensuring adherence to government regulations and program security policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the document control system for SAP information, ensuring compliance with DoD policies, including DoD 5205.07 and related directives.
- Receive, log, track, distribute, and properly store classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI).
- Ensure all documentation is properly marked, safeguarded, and disseminated in accordance with security classification guides (SCGs) and program requirements.
- Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of classified documents, ensuring proper destruction or archiving as required.
- Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and release processes with government and contractor stakeholders.
- Support security inspections, audits, and assessments by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Train personnel on document control procedures and best practices for handling classified and SAP materials.
- Work closely with security personnel to ensure compliance with SAPF/SCIF requirements for document storage and handling.
- Process and maintain distribution lists, document receipts, transmittal records, and accountability logs.
- Assist with the preparation and transmission of SAP materials through approved channels.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain SAP access.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in document control, records management, or classified document handling within a DoD or SAP environment.
- Knowledge of DoD Special Access Programs, security classification guides, and document marking requirements.
- Experience with document tracking systems and classified material accountability procedures.
- Strong understanding of security policies, including DoDM 5205.07, NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), and other relevant directives.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a secure facility such as a SCIF or SAPF.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems used for classified information.
- Certification in records management or security-related fields.
- Current Top Secret Clearance/Special Access Required.
- Must be able to work onsite in Arlington, VA
Position Qualifications
- Previous experience in security operations, particularly with administrative support, incident management, and international coordination.
- 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (an additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Master’s degree).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and develop security awareness materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with OPSEC, Program Protection Plans, and SAP/SCI protocols.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand
- Excellent briefing and technical writing skills
- Impeccable customer service skills
- Read, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Expert experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools and systems including Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Complete a security screening interview.
- The employee must maintain clearance and eligibility throughout employment.
