Special Education Administrator
The Penfield Central School District seeks a visionary leader to promote student success and advocate for special education among staff and the community.
Qualifications
- New York State certification (SDA/SDL)
- Successful public school teaching experience
- Thorough knowledge of sound teaching and learning practices
- Administrative and/or leadership experience in special education preferred
- Thorough knowledge and experience with IEP development
Responsibilities
- Establishes and implements district procedures complying with IDEA and OCR/Section 504 laws and regulations
- Oversees programs, services, and curriculum for students under IDEA and Section 504
- Gathers and disseminates essential information to special education teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators
- Collaborates with teacher leaders and colleagues on department meetings and professional learning opportunities
- Supports District mission by identifying and planning to meet needs of students and staff
- Represents the schools and District professionally through interactions with parents, community, staff, and students

Reports to Assistant Superintendent for Equity and Access
Terms of Employment
Twelve-month position, compensation package in accordance with collective bargaining agreement with Penfield Administrative Council
