Summary
Penguin Computing, a subsidiary of SMART Global Holdings (SGH), is looking for Planning Supervisor
The Planning Supervisor leads the production planning team. This role includes development of demand forecasts, executing demand and inventory plans to meet sales and service objectives, and scheduling and coordinating operations to meet on time delivery of customer orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating operations to meet on time delivery of replenishment and direct customer orders
- Manage and develop leaders on the planning team
- Lead improvement of planning tools and data systems
- Report and drive improvement of metrics – forecast, cycle times, plan vs actuals
- Document processes and teach other in best practices
- Develop demand forecasts to inform factory capacity and hiring decisions
- Assist in schedule risk assessment and mitigation activities
- Identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply
- Improve and optimize demand planning processes and systems
- Identify and communicate supply problems and implement effective countermeasures or root cause corrective actions
- Work with customers, sales, and supply chain teams to improve forecast accuracy

- System thinking approach to improving operations
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze, interpret, and present data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge in SAP Preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT)
