The Penguin Young Readers School and Library Marketing department is seeking a Marketing Assistant to provide administrative and project-based support to the team. Reporting into the Vice President and Executive Director, the Assistant will have great exposure to all aspects of the Marketing Department and the many divisions and imprints within Penguin Young Readers Group. This is perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about reading and loves children’s books!
The ideal candidate must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and creatively problem-solve. You must have strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, work collaboratively and independently, and will be expected to interact successfully with marketing, sales, and editorial teams, as well represent the company with teachers and librarians.
Specific responsibilities include :
- Brainstorm marketing plans across library and school channels and work with supervision on execution of materials
- Coordinate promotional mailings to industry influencers, including maintaining contact database
- Create PowerPoint presentations for Book Buzzes to teachers and librarians and pitch key titles
- Assist in creation and updates of School & Library websites and other digital materials
- Provide support at all national and regional conferences, including travel 4-6 times a year.
- Assist in the planning of 2-3 PYR Events throughout the year, including location research, catering orders, and on-location (NYC) support
- Provide general support to the department, including meeting preparation, booking author travel, processing invoices etc.
- Assist the team with additional library- and teacher-focused promotions

The PRH office is located in New York City. This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities approximately one to three days per week.
The salary for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
