The Account Manager Intern will support the on-site administrative and technical management of construction projects, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and aligned with project goals. This role involves assisting with the independent supervision of small to medium-sized projects, including coordination, communication, and monitoring progress. Additional responsibilities include fostering client relationships, tracking project milestones, and ensuring safety and quality standards. The internship program intends to give the student real-world exposure and experience to a specialty commercial construction company and the duties associated with an Account Manager role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in estimating and preparing proposals for assigned projects under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support project management efforts by tracking progress, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining project documentation.
- Assist in responding to client inquiries and service requests, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Learn about sales strategies and support the team in identifying potential business opportunities.
- Help maintain and develop strong client relationships by supporting communication and follow-ups.
- Shadow Account Managers to gain insight into customer service best practices and client relationship management.
- Assist in tracking and updating project progress, gathering feedback, and identifying potential challenges.
- Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions to understand how business objectives are aligned with client needs.
- Learn how to conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
- Support internal teams in ensuring smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
- Assist in tracking performance metrics and compiling reports to support data-driven decision-making.
Duration:
- The beginning of June till the beginning of August. MUST be available during this time frame with no time off.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and reliability skills.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to address client needs effectively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a related Business or Construction Management program.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to walk job sites as needed.
- May be required to travel to job sites or other locations as necessary.
