Job Title: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) supports the daily activities of Nursing Services, providing clinical assistance to clients and performing routine testing as ordered.
This role involves direct client care, including observation, intervention, and stabilization of clients with chronic mental illness. The MA-C also provides services such as medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and physical parameter assessment.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a college-level Certified Medical Assistant Program, and eligibility for licensure as an MA-C in Washington State. One year of clinical experience is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct client care related to observation, intervention, and stabilization of clients with chronic mental illness
- Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and assess compliance
- Obtain patient medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint
- Perform EKG, phlebotomy services, urine dips, genetic testing, and other in-house testing as ordered
- Process refill requests and prior authorizations according to department procedures
- Document care within Nursing Services guidelines and standards
- Teach and evaluate training for clients and staff on medication self-administration programs
- Maintain confidentiality of client and staff information according to Federal Regulations and applicable laws
