Dental Hygienist

Job Responsibilities:
The Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing general preventative services, including x-rays, cleaning and polishing teeth, noting conditions of decay, disease and deviations from normal health and performing sub-gingival and supra-gingival scaling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and promote preventive concepts through patient education
- Obtain baseline oral hygiene assessment and perform dental services within scope based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care
- Review and document patient’s medical and dental history, treatment plans and services in patient’s electronic health record (EHR)
- Work closely with the staff and community dental care providers in providing primary dental care and making outside referrals
- Familiar with using electronic health record (ex. Athena and NextGen)
- Monitor, and where applicable, oversee relevant provider and care staff to ensure delivery of care
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct reports.
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist License in Washington State (required)
- Active CPR Certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license (required)

Starting Salary: $95,000 Annually

Work Environment and Physical Demands
With multiple locations and settings, PCHS’ work environment and physical demands vary greatly depending on the employee’s role. Essential job functions include the following: The employee is required to talk, hear, see, smell, sit and stand. The employee is frequently required to move around the facility; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
