Job Responsibilities

The Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing support to providers during routine clinical exams, collecting health information and maintaining accurate documentation in healthcare records.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • A Nursing Assistant may perform the following duties:
  • Obtaining and recording patient history
  • Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of patient information
  • Maintaining medication and immunization records
  • Assisting in sterile procedures, taking vital signs, preparing patients for exam
  • Practicing standard precautions
  • Complete simple dressing changes as instructed by a provider.
  • Perform diagnostic testing such hearing, and vision as ordered by a provider.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms as well prepare instruments for sterilization.
  • Assist with patient check-in, and provide necessary paperwork for patients to streamline check-in process
  • Schedule follow-up visits for quality initiatives such as well-child exams, immunization and other preventive care services
  • Familiar with using electronic health record (Ex. Athena)
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct reports.

Pay Range: $16.66 - $22.96/hour DOE

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nursing Assistant license in Washington State (required within 120 days of hire)
  • Active CPR Certification (required after hire)
  • Valid driver's license (required)
  • One (1) year of customer service experience (preferred)

Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; to receive and respond well to feedback. Possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; time-management and organizational skills, including being punctual, responsive, and efficient. Perform job with professionalism and good judgment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

With multiple locations and settings, PCHS' work environment and physical demands vary greatly depending on the employee's role. Essential job functions include the following: The employee is required to talk, hear, see, smell, sit and stand. The employee is frequently required to move around the facility; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employees may be exposed to mechanical parts and moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be available to individuals with disabilities to perform their essential job functions.
