The full salary range for this position is posted. New hires typically start between the minimum and market within the salary range. PenMet Parks may offer a slightly higher salary based on experience, internal equity, and factors impacting the market.

PURPOSE OF POSITION :
The Recreation Services Assistant advances the mission of PenMet Parks by planning and performing recreation services assistance and support activities under the supervision of the Director of Recreation Services. This position organizes office functions and operations. The Recreation Services Assistant regularly engages with community members, contractors, vendors, and employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES :
- Interacts with community members, vendors, and contractors in person, on the phone and via email regarding Recreation Services.
- Appropriately represents the District as one of the first points of contact for external customers and program participants.
- Provides support for all facets of recreational programming. Assists with program delivery and logistics as assigned.
- Facilitates registration and payment for programs and facility rentals. Ensures contracts and other compliance documents are complete.
- Assists with Recreation Services marketing and community outreach.
- Assist with reviewing Recreation Services expenses and revenues against the budget. Reviews and recommends approval of invoices and contracts.
- Assists with managing and reconciling recreation software (ActiveNet) data, revenue, and credits with District data.
- Assists with Recreation Services projects as assigned.
- Assists with organizing and maintaining Recreation Services data, files, and records in paper and / or electronic formats. Files all paper and / or electronic documents as appropriate and retains and archives in accordance with the Washington State Retention Schedule.
- Enters and verifies numerical data, checks output for accuracy and format, and makes corrections as necessary.
- Composes, prepares, and types a variety of correspondence, memos, reports, and other materials.
- Manages the recreation financial aid program including processing community member applications and monitoring finances and data.
- Oversees completion of annual asset inventory as applicable for the recreation division.
- Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Takes responsibility and ownership for successfully accomplishing work and the organization’s objectives and delivering results.
- Ensures work is thoughtfully completed, accurate, and error free to the highest degree possible.
- Supports an inclusive work environment that respects diverse ideas, backgrounds, and styles.
- Oversees customer service operations by managing and guiding staff, offering clear direction and support.
- Oversees the facility and program participants, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
