Description:
Our company specializes in the manufacturing of reusable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. We are currently seeking a Pattern Shop Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for creating wood patterns, fabricating metal tools for production, and assisting with daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong woodworking and metalworking skills, a passion for learning, and a willingness to share knowledge with others.
Responsibilities:
- Produce wood patterns for Prototyping
- Convert aluminum foundry castings into a production ready tool
- Create initial molds based on specification from the design team, blueprints or schematics
- Set up equipment
- Cut and shape tools with lathes, presses and cutting machines
- Monitor the tools used in the machine to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs
- Create/Modify/Repair fixtures used to make thermoformed plastic components.
- Fill out ISO and procedure driven documentation.
- Perform and document calculations used to judge quality during production.
- Support production team with the tools that Pattern Shop helps to create.
- Maintain inventory of items needed to complete jobs on your schedule.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, steel rules, etc.)
- Experience with pneumatic tools preferred (die grinder, 90-degree grinder/drill) and power tools (band saw, table saw, disk grinder)
- Bridgeport experience preferred but not required
- Own tools (calipers, tape measures, micrometers) preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong motivation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt
