Clinical Support Tech/Student Nurse Position Summary
Under the specific direction of the Nurse, the CST performs a variety of functions that support patient care within the unit. The CST assists with general patient care, data collection, documentation, application of monitoring devices, communicates patient data to nurse, stocks necessary equipment and supplies in patient rooms. Additionally, the CST will assist in the patient documentation preparation for admissions, discharges and transfers. The employee will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field and is responsible for providing quality service to patients and families. This position is specifically for nursing students that wish to gain more clinical, hand-on experience while attending nursing school.
Clinical Support Tech/Student Nurse Position Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Must be currently enrolled in a nursing program
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Clinical Support Tech/Student Nurse Work Schedule
- May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
- Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
- Required to work weekends per unit need.
- Expected to work overtime on occasion.
Clinical Support Tech/Student Nurse Benefits
- At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members wor (king at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
