Certification Requirements
BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Job Details
- General medical surgical experience with a minimum of 2 years.
- Types of procedures: care of post-op spine and brain surgeries, stroke, seizure, TBI, and other med surg patients.
- Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: EPIC Computer documentation, Omnicell medication system, braces, collars, lift devices.
Requirements
- Must have BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- NIHSS certification is also required.
- Active MD or compact state RN license is necessary.
Schedule Information
Hours are based on need at time of request, including weekends and holidays. At least one other staff member must be present before working on the unit. No on-call requirement exists.
Unit Specifics
- Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.: 28-30.
- Nurse to patient ratio of this unit: 5-6:1 with free charge.
Dress Code
Navy Scrubs are required.
