What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Tech- Per Diem position at Peninsula Surgery Center?
Job Responsibilities
- Completes duties according tot he requirements of each procedure needing radiological support
- Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physician's preferences
- Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition
- Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and direction
- Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray
- Applies prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions
- Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure
- Follows manufacturer's specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedures
- Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- AMA approved Radiology Technician Certification/Training
- Current Fluoroscopy License Required
- Current AHA BLS Certification
Qualifications and Skills
- ASC experience preferred
- C-Arm experience required
- Strong ethical and moral character references
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
- Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
