Manual Machinist

Penmac Staffing is now hiring a Manual Machinist to join our client company's team in Spartanburg. In this position, you will help create tools and other components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, a drill press, a micrometer, and grinding machines. The ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school and has at least one year of manufacturing experience. Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plus.

Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job
• Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components
• Operate your machines to grind, cut, and polish the materials
• Finish projects using manual tools
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure they remain in good working order
  
  

Manual Machinist Requirements And Qualifications

• Machinist vocational certificate or completed industry apprenticeship
• Manual dexterity
• Lathe machining experience
• Blueprinting reading skills
  
  

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
