Penmac is currently recruiting for an experienced Supply Chain professional to join a manufacturing client for a contract procurement position in Lee's Summit, MO.
This position is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of materials to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency. This role involves supplier management, cost analysis, and coordination with manufacturing and distribution to meet customer demands while maintaining inventory targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Inventory & Supplier Management: Maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand, minimize back orders, and achieve fill rate objectives. Address supplier issues to ensure smooth material flow.
- Engineering Change Management: Oversee Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure inventory is fully utilized before implementing new Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Supply Chain Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage supply risks, including international holidays, transportation delays, and other disruptions.
- Cost & Value Analysis: Evaluate supplier quotations using strategic purchasing principles to assess total cost and value, selecting or developing alternative suppliers as needed.
- Supplier Training & Development: Educate suppliers on Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) and Automatic Vendor Scheduling (AVS) to improve delivery performance.
- Vendor Negotiations & Dispute Resolution: Apply negotiation skills to resolve supplier disputes and manage the strategic sourcing process effectively.
- Market & Commodity Research: Monitor industry trends, commodity pricing, and market changes to anticipate business impact and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Procurement Strategy & Sourcing: Conduct market research, evaluate contract vs. open-market purchasing benefits, and explore outsourcing opportunities.
- Vendor Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze supplier performance through financial reviews, quality assessments, and customer feedback.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement principles, and supplier management practices.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills for cost and contract analysis.
- Effective communication skills for supplier engagement, reporting, and presentations.
- Proficiency in SAP, Access, Google, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of manufacturing, distribution, inventory management, and quality systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex engineering drawings.
- Fluency in English and the primary language of the assigned location.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
