Position Overview
Penn Air Repair, LLC (PAR) is seeking a Certified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft systems and components. This role ensures the airworthiness and safety of aircraft by performing routine and specialized inspections, diagnosing malfunctions, replacing parts, and documenting all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesInspections & Maintenance
- Conduct thorough visual and functional inspections of aircraft components to identify cracks, leaks, corrosion, or wear.
- Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fluid checks, and replacement of worn parts.
Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, disassemble components, repair or replace faulty parts, and reassemble systems according to specifications.
- Utilize technical manuals and diagnostic tools to identify root causes of malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair logbooks, inspection reports, and parts used, in compliance with FAA regulations.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements set by the FAA and PAR management.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and new technologies through ongoing training.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- FAA Certification: Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate with a minimum of three years of full-time experience in fixed-wing piston aircraft (single and multi-engine). Turbine-powered aircraft experience is a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of aircraft systems, including mechanics, electrical circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Avionics installation experience a plus. Sheet metal repair experience a plus. Antique or Warbird experience a plus.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on accuracy and quality when performing inspections and repairs.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and environments where chemicals are present.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately under time constraints.
- Team Collaboration: Strong ability to work cooperatively with other technicians and support staff to ensure timely aircraft maintenance and repairs.
Work Environment
- Primarily based in a heated aircraft hangar with occasional exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
- May require occasional irregular hours, but weekends and holidays are rarely required.
