We are seeking a skilled fabricator and welder to join our team. This position will support safety, quality, production, 5s, new equipment installation, and various other activities. There will be a wide range of opportunities to show craftsmanship and skill.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Fabricate moderately complex parts and equipment
- Weld and build tables, guarding, brackets, and various other support equipment
- Must be able to read and create mechanical drawings as needed
- Use calipers and other precision measuring equipment
- Self-motivated to get assigned work completed
- Must be willing to modify or replace previous work performed
- Must be willing to install or reinstall finished work
- Will need to maintain inventory of materials needed to perform any given task
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, utilize all PPE.
- Ability to weld both steel and aluminum
- Willingness to work weekends as necessary
Experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding preferred
- Must have at least 2 plus years of welding experience
- Must have experience using conventional machining equipment
- Ability to do maintenance on shop equipment
- Experience welding aluminum a plus
- Experience with electrical and electrical controls a plus
- Will need to pass a welding test
- Very rarely will need to be able to work in confined spaces
